The most active (and maybe biggest in terms of follower count) publication here on Medium, is Towards Data Science. Therefore, I'd disagree with you that Medium was never designed to be a platform where people with technical background could share their expertise.

Furthermore, some of the most popular non-technical writers, such as Umair Haque and Jessica Wildfire, have also taken the decision to leave Medium after the recent changes on MPP. So it's not just about technical writing. The changes had a negative impact to every single writer who has been here for a while and got the chance to create and share a good amount of articles, because older articles will no longer make any money.

Happy to hear the new changes had a positive impact on your earnings though. Keep it up!
